Federation of Estonian Student Unions (EÜL) is an umbrella organisation of students whose aim is to stand for the rights, needs and interests of students on a national level and to support student unions in carrying out their work.

The highest decision-making body of EÜL is the General Assembly that gathers twice a year, where member student bodies are represented according to the number of students in their school. The members of the General Assembly are selected by each student union.

The General Assembly is competent to amend the statutes and objectives of the Union, including the strategy, adoption of rules of procedure, admission and expulsion of members, approval of the budget, election of the executive board, approval of the action plan, election of the council, election of members of the supervisory committee, approval of the annual report, formation of committees and other statutory powers which is not delegated to the board or other collections.

History

EÜL was founded on November 23, 1991 by nine Student Unions.

Since 1993, EÜL has issued ISIC Student International Student Card.

Since September 1999, as a first country in the world, ISIC Student Maestro card was launched in Estonia, which combines the ISIC card and the international Maestro debit card.
